Hi Everyone,
I just bought the HD portable radio. Seemed to get everything up and running fine. I wanted to adjust the back light time. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do that because I had no guide or menu showing. The radio was on FM only, but didn't think that should have made a difference. Any ideas......I did go through the manual more than once and didn't find anything about this issue. Your help would be much appreciated.
Thank you,

Hello Cldbworse,
If you want to change the backlight duration settings, simply press "Menu", then select "Backlight Time", then use the plus and minus buttons to adjust the time setting. If you are unable to access the menu in general, I would recommend resetting the radio by pressing the reset button on the side of the device with the bent end of a paper clip.
If you are still having issues with the NS-HD02 after trying those steps, I would suggest taking it to the place of purchase along with the receipt to obtain warranty service, as it has a 90 day warranty from the date of purchase.

I know this is a day late and a dollar short from looking at the date of your inquiry, but you are right - Whoever wrote the manual needs to go back to technical writing class - They simply needed to add a 53rd page to the instructions entitled "How to access the menu" Not once in the manual do the words "SWIPE FINGER" ever appear - I was clueless as well - the manual makes it seem like the menu button should always be visible - If you have just the tuning screen up, and you see that little 4mm wide black strip with the word tuning in the middle, put your finger on it AND the tunning buttons undernest in the center and swipe your finger to the left or right to change those tuning buttons into menu buttons -
Stupid manual - I was ready to wing mine into the sidewalk outside because of the lack of preset functions and other options - Hey INSIGNIA! Hire better tech writers!

LOL So true! Insignia needs to swallow its pride and insert a note telling people how to access the menu and all the other buttons that appear on the botton line, such as preset, Live Pause, Guide, and Memo. I was ready to press the reset button, which would not have helped at all. Directions: Swipe the bottom of the screen to the Right to see Preset, Live Pause, & Menu. OR, swipe to the left to get the Guide and Memo buttons. How many times have people returned these radios for refunds because they never found the menu?
