Will bluetooth speaker power down when AC power connected?

I'm testing using the Insignia Speaker NS-CSPBTHOL as the external speaker for an Insignia TV. We want the speaker to stay on all the time, even if the TV is powered down. Like a mini soundbar.

So If the speaker is connected via AUX input, using a 3.5 audio cable from the TV's audio out jack (set to variable) AND plugged to a 5v power supply, will it shut itself off? (No use of the bluetooth or battery mode). Can it stay on, noted by the green LED, permantly?
With this set up, Is there a reason it would lose audio signal or power down?

Thanks for any feedback 😎

Re: Will bluetooth speaker power down when AC power connected?

Hello there jakeB,

Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!

Taking in consideration the Bluetooth speaker works with a rechargeable battery, it will unfortunately not meet your needs. Often rechargeable batteries lose a little bit of their holding capacity every time they're overcharged. The Bluetooth speaker needs to be charging only for the amount of time required, leaving the speaker connected to the power source all the time will eventually cause your speaker to malfunction or misbehave.

Re: Will bluetooth speaker power down when AC power connected?

Hello again jakeB

Thank you for replying.

After reviewing a couple of our products, I was able to find this set of 2-way Indoor/outdoor speakers that could work for your connection. However taking in consideration the connecting cables of the speakers are only speakers wire, you will need to use an adapter for compatibility purposes. You will need to search for this adapters as a "speaker wire to 3.5mm jack converter" by hooking up the speakers like this you will surely be able to get a surround sound system experience.

With this being said, I will like to share with you the model number of one of our sound bar. It will be the following one: NS-SB316

If you would like to review the product you can easily access to our official website and use the model number as a reference.

Best,
