Three quarters of my screen from the right is now missing. Multiple horizontal lines of various shades appear in the blanked out area.

You may have loose solder connections on the ends of the ribbon cable that goes between the display and the main board. Try pressing firmly around the middle of the player to see if there are changes in the display.
