Re: Help

Nothing happens when you hit the connect/continue button after selecting WiFi and enter in the WiFi password. The App has been updated to 3.1.15.

Re: Help

Hello Mcdonal75 and Cyndy,

Thank you so much for trying the trouble shooting steps. Our support teams were unable to replicate the issues with the troubleshooting steps you provided. Can you please share which device/phone you have the Insignia Connect App on? We’d be happy to continue trying to find a fix for this issue once that information is provided.

It’s been suggested to try the following troubleshooting steps to see if you can get further in the process.

  1. Go to the phone’s Wi-Fi network settings. Select their home’s 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi network and in its settings, select “Forget This Network”
  2. Re-join their phone to network and this time, make sure it is set to Auto-Join
  3. Factory-reset the plug and follow the FAQ instructions

Please let me know if you have any success with the troubleshooting tips, and I look forward to hearing which devices you’re using so I can get that information passed along.

Respectfully,

Mariah

Re: Help

Hello Nickolby,

Thank you so much for your post to our community. Can you please share if you’re having similar issues as the individuals that already have posted to this thread? Please note there is a known issue with iOS 11.3 on Apple devices that prevents the Insignia Connect application from setting up a smart plug, however, we haven't been made of aware of similar issue effecting Android users.

Have you tried our troubleshooting steps listed below? If these don’t work for you can you please pinpoint what step you’re having issues with while setting it up?

-Reset the plug by pressing and holding the power button on the front for 30 seconds to a minute, the plug will make a clicking noise when it has reset.

-Log Out of the application, and log back in.

-Uninstall & Re-install the Insignia CONNECT application

-Double check that your router configured at a 2.4 GHz band or the capability of dual bandwidth.

-Get close to your Plug to attempt to connect

-Ensure there is a strong Wi-Fi signal where the plug is being installed

-Is your router security setting set on WPA-PSK; changing the password sometimes works to get the plug installed

-Try a different power outlet

-Reset your router

Kindly,

Mariah
