19" LCD TV shuts off randomly when playing Xbox on HDMI

I just hooked up my 360 to the TV and started playing Rock Band. It seems to only shut off and turn back on when I'm playing the drums to Rock Band really heavily. I have it mounted on my wall and I'm not sure that much vibration could be occuring to cause any issues but I could be wrong. Any ideas or any suggestions to keep this from happening?

Re: 19" LCD TV shuts off randomly when playing Xbox on HDMI

  • What is your TV model number?

NS-19E310A13 Rev. A

  • If your concern occurs during viewing, in what mode does it happen (e.g. cable/satellite, gaming, over-the-air broadcasts, DVD/Blu-ray)?

Gaming

  • If other components are involved (e.g. a game console, home theater system, or Blu-ray player) what are they and how have you connected them to your TV (e.g. HDMI, composite, component)?

Xbox 360 connected via HDMI

  • Is the problem intermittent or frequent?

Intermittent

  • Have you made any recent changes or additions to your home theater configuration?

I mounted it on the wall. That's it.

Re: 19" LCD TV shuts off randomly when playing Xbox on HDMI

Hello FutsMHF,

So while you are playing drums in Rock Band on an Xbox 360 over HDMI the TV will shut off on its own and it doesn't shut off on its own when you do anything else?  If that is the case the only real possibility I can think of is that the power cord isn't inserted completely and the vibration is causing the TV to lose power temporarily.  I would suggest checking the power cord is securely attached to the back of the TV, at the power brick, at the surge protector, and at the wall.  Hopefully one of those connections is loose and causing that issue.
