I have an Insignia 26" LCD flat screen which is a year and half old. Did not buy extended warranty as BestBuy did not ask me to purchase like they do with other electronic items.
Problem - No Sound at all. Use any input (cable, DVD, VCR, S-Video..). No Sound.
The sound went off with a loud crackling noise. It would come back for a few minutes if I turned it on again.. and now no sound at all.
Any help will be appreciated.
Any idea what it might cost me to get it repaired from bestbuy. My purchase price was near $400.
Thanks.

OK sorry that didn't help, have you looked this TV's model number up on the net? Some of the 26" , do have an issue you should be aware of. If you have a model that doesn't have this "issue" and the picture is good ( lacking sound) and you have a cable box , DVD , VCR and etc, you can use their audio output thru a separate AMP. Once again I realize this doesn't fix the TV issue , but at least it allows you to enjoy the TV until the problem is solved or to save you any repair cost that you may not want to pay to fix a blown audio component or a Cold/loose solder joint.
P.S does this TV have a optical or coaxial digital audio output? and did you try those?

Thanks eyemale for your replies.
Unfortunately I relied too much on Insignia. I did have the cable/vcr audio hooked to an INSIGNIA home theater. That is the reason I did not post this issue as I had an alternate way to getting the sound working. Sadly, the Home theater dies a few weeks aga and now I am out of options.
I check the TV on the internet forums whether the model has any noted issues. Could not find one.
My TV model # is NS-LCD26A (Oct-2007).

Problem Found and Fixed.
Reset the Dish Network Reciever and sound returned.
