Re: 50" Insignia tv has sound but no picture

Hello josef95,

Thank you for responding!

If you are not getting any imagery on the screen from the TV menu, or from alternate sources, I would suggest having the TV reviewed under the manufacturer warranty. With this size TV, you would need to call 1-877-467-4289 for one of our Customer Support agents to schedule a On Site review for you.

Re: 50" Insignia tv has sound but no picture

TV was working fine all of a sudden no picture. Light flickers and can see a picture but that's all. Sound works fine. Unplugged TV for over hour and still no picture. Using flash light can see picture and menu when pressed button but nothing once light turned off.

Re: 50" Insignia tv has sound but no picture

It sounds like the lighting element in the screen has gone out. Unfortunately, Insignia TVs' screens are completely sealed, self-contained units. You can't replace the lighting element, you can only replace the screen. And replacing the screen costs almost as much as the entire set.

If your TV is under warranty or service plan, call Insignia's support line to set up a service call. If it's not, it's probably not going to be cost-effective to pay for a replacement screen.

Hello Dwilliams,

Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!

With the information you have provided, it does seem like the TV has some form of hardware failure. Do you know when and where you purchased it? I would like to determine if the TV is within the warranty.

Re: 50" Insignia tv has sound but no picture

Seems to be a common problem. Mine went out tonight. It's not even one month old. This is my first insignia and my last. If you can't make a product that costs hundreds of dollars last even one month. That's a load of crap! I completely regret buying this tv.

Re: 50" Insignia tv has sound but no picture

That's why TVs have warranties. Call them during regular business hours and if the TV is big enough, they'll send someone out to your home to repair it for free. If it's not big enough, you can take it in to their store and they'll repair it for free. It may even still be within the return period, if you want to go that route, but you'd have to check with the store about that.

Either way, if you bought it from a Best Buy less than a month ago, they'll get it fixed for you.

Re: 50" Insignia tv has sound but no picture

Hello Not1mpressed,

Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!

Is your TV giving you sound but no picture? If so there are a few troubleshooting steps we can take to hopefully clear the issue up. Also, if the TV is a month old it would be well within the manufacturer warranty which means we can get the TV taken care of if there is an issue.

Can you provide the model number so I can better assist? Also can you go into detail on the issue you are experiencing?

Regards,
Ryan

Hello rennie,

Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!

There are a few troubleshooting steps I would like you to try. First, unplug the power from the TV for at least a minute. If the screen is still very dark, press menu to bring the TV menu up. If the menu is also very dark this is an indication of a hardware failure.

Can you double check the model number, it should start with NS-. If it was manufactured in AUG 2013 it is more than likely outside of the warranty though. To get a quote on repair costs you should speak with a reputable TV repair facility.
