That's a good point, and one I hadn't considered when I finally broke down and decided to take it in for repair work.
I had called the 800 number in the past, but unfortunately the calls consisted of simply checking wether my tv was under warranty or not. Once it was out of warranty no suggestions were made about getting it repaired simply that there was nothing else they could do over the phone to assist.
I hope I don't come off too upset, we did get a years use out of the tv. And in the end having not had a tv in the media room for the last six months my 18 year old actually went and sold his Xbox to a friend down the street which to my wife and I is priceless
