Channel Search Problem (Standard Channels not connecting)

When I search for the channels on my NS-42P650A11 (42'' 720P) the get all of the HD channels synced up, but all of my over 60 standard channels dont sync. I have heard it can be a tuner problem, but I have the QAM tuner on it. What can I do to have my standard AND my HD channels?

Re: Channel Search Problem (Standard Channels not connecting)

Hello stevenmeyerjr,

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

I have questions for you:

  • How is your cable service connected to the TV? Are you using a box?
  • Who is your cable service provider?
  • In what city and state do you live?
  • Are the channels affected in a specific range or above or below a certain channel number?

Any additional information you can provide (more is better) will help us in researching your question.

Regards,
John

Re: Channel Search Problem (Standard Channels not connecting)

I have just a coaxial cable going in from the wall. No box. I have Direct TV and I live in Jacksonville, Fl on the University of North Florida campus.

Most of the Affected channels are in the 100 range, where the HD are in the 200 range, but there are some channels that are standard in the middle of the HD channels that I dont recieve.

Re: Channel Search Problem (Standard Channels not connecting)

Hello Stevenmeyerjr,

I would suggest that you run the channel search on the TV. To do this please follow these steps:

  1. Press the "Menu" button on the remote.
  2. Select "Channel" then press "Enter".
  3. Select "Antenna", press "Enter", select "Cable", and press "Enter" again.
  4. Select "Auto Program" then press "Enter".

Once the scan is complete you should have all the channels available to you. If you still do not have all the channels that you should have access to, I would the suggest that you contact either the appropriate department at the university or DirecTV.

Regards,
Zac
