Greetings. Luv my new 55" NS-55E790A12.
After seeing how nice this new TV is, I wanted to upgrade the rest of my home theater as well.
Everything is working through HDMI (Cable TV / X-Box / Bluray). All device connect to my Onkyo receiver via HDMI and then one Monster HDMI to the TV. Image is perfect. Audio through receiver is great.
My center channel speaker is a little weak so I would like to use the TV's built in speakers for a bit of balance, but I cannot get the TV audio to run with this configuration. The only TV audio I can get is from the one component device ( the **bleep** Wii) which is obviously no HDMI.
Am I missing something? Shouldn't I be able to have the TV audio run as well as my surround sound speakers?
Thanks in advance.

Hello macrographics,
What is the model number of your Onkyo receiver?

Greetings Zac-
Onkyo HT-RC160.
I will examine my receiver more closely. I figured the TV was stopping the output.

Hello macrographics,
I have taken a look through the manual for the Onkyo receiver. It appears that you can output audio from the receiver to the TV using an HDMI cable, however it will either disable the receiver speakers or only use them in stereo, depending on how you use the setting. However, you would not be able to use full surround sound out of the receiver, plus using the TV speakers. Sorry for the inconvenience. A link to your manual can be found here and the instructions for using audio out to the TV can be found on page 78 of the manual.

Zac,
I really appreciate your efforts to answer a question that was not related to your own product. You went above and beyond any kind of product advice I have been given.
Thank you sincerely for your efforts.
