I have an Insignia 19" HDTV NS-19E430A10 and I'm trying to hook up speakers NS-PCS20. However I can't get and sound out of the left speaker. I assume I'm doing something wrong. Do I have to buy some other equipment to make it work?

Hello witashi,
Welcome to Community@Insignia™!
To what device are you connecting your speakers (e.g. computer, DVD player, gaming console)? How specifically are you connecting them?
Regards,
John

I'm trying to connect to an Insignia 19" HDTV NS-19E430A10. The speakers have only one jack, and I get no sound if I put the jack into either of the TV audio jacks. When I insert it into the headphone jack, I get sound but only out of the right speaker.

Hello witashi,
Welcome to Community@Insignia™!
The only mini jack that will output sound will be the headphone jack, and it should be stereo. My advise is to try the speakers on some other device (such as a CD player, mp3 or computer) to check you do have sound on both speakers, then you may also try with a couple of headphones in the headphone jack to see if you get mono, that way we can see which device is the one that is not working correctly and assist you on that.
If it happens to be the TV, you will need to take it to the nearest Best Buy store so have a Geek Squad agent assist you on this, while if the problem is on the speakers you will need to either get some other speakers or check on the ones you have.
If it was useful, and you liked it, Kudo it!
Thank you,
Gonza

I did as you said. The speakers work well in stereo when connected to a cd player, my pc, and my ipod. It doesn't work in stereo when connected to the tv. The only sound is from the right speaker. When the TV is operating by itself with no outside speakers, both of the tv speakers work in stereo. Should I be taking the tv back to Best Buy?

witashi,
I would attempt a last test with a couple of headphones, just to check you are hearing mono with them as well. If so, yes take it to the nearest Best Buy store so a Geek Squad agent can check on this port for you.
