The tv does not display color when is connected using the composite input: red, white, and yellow (plugged into the green connector in the back). I have tried different cables and plugged the directTV receiver and the PS3 with the adapter that comes with it which is composite and keep getting the same black and white image.
I already returned one TV thinking it was defective and got the same model to give it another try. Same problem when I took it home. The HDMI inputs work with no issues. I would like to keep the tv as is a very good deal and the picture is acceptable but I need to be able to use the composite input. Any advice?

Hello bakegoldfish,
Sounds like you have everything connected properly, the only suggest that I would have is make sure that it is on the "AV" input, not "Component". If you have it on the component input it would make sense that the image is black and white as the TV is only getting 1/3 of the signal it should be (as component uses 3 video cables), however if it is on AV then all the video signal is being sent through the one cable.

I'm having the same issue. I tried connecting the DVD player and the Wii, both of them are b&w when I use the composite cables. And, yes, I have it set on the AV input.
Help!

And I just went out and bought component cables and it's STILL black and white.

Neither our Wii or DVD display color. I tried both with their composite cables and nothing. I went out and just bought component cables for the Wii and while the picture quality is better it's STILL in black & white. I'm glad I didn't buy component cables for the DVD player while I was out.
If this is an issue with the set, fine, just tell me that the composite and component cables won't display color and I'll go out and get HDMI cables.
This is incredibly frustrating.
