Hello Insignia Enthusiasts!
Welcome to Community@Insignia!
We're very interested in making sure that you get the most out of your Insignia products, and that includes using your third-party universal remote controls. Many remote control codes can be found below. Also, your universal remote control should have a code search or learning feature that will help you find a working code.
Here is a listing of the most common Insignia TV codes for universal remote controls (for all Insignia TVs manufactured after January 1, 2007):
Universal remote control makes and models:
If you're still having trouble finding a code -- or your remote control is not listed above -- we want to help. Please reply to this message and we'll start working to get you an answer. Here's what we need you to provide so that we can get you what you need:
We also ask that you remember that most universal remote controls don't offer all of the functionality of your original Insignia™ TV controller, but we'll do our best to make sure that you get the most out of your universal remote!

Just puchased a 32" combo television / /DVD. Picture is great everything pretty good so far but having the same problems as everyone else getting my Phillips RC144 remote programmed to operate all of the TV/DVD functions.
I am using the Sansui code 0490 for the TV and it handles the basic functions. It does not work for any of the DVD functions. I have tried the universal programming method for the TV without a better resolution than using the Sansui code. I have also tried the universal programming method for the DVD button and nothing works at all.
As long as Insignia and Verizon Fios have been around, it seems as though these types of things would get resolved. They are the small inconveniences that keep customers spending more for a brand name so that they can use a single remote control.
Don't be satisfied with being the lowest price option to get sales, try and get these kind of failures resolved.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the model number and for the feedback on this matter.
The truth is, in most cases (with most brands) both cable and universal remote controls can only provide basic functionality for compatible devices.
The basic functions are: power on/off; channel up/down and volume up/down.
Other functions are generally unavailable in such remotes and will only work using the original Insignia remote.

First is there some reason that you stopped allowing replies to the Official thread on this subject?
Next, there is still an error message when you attempt to go to the webpage posted in the insignia user manual.
I noticed that most of the issues on the official tread have to do with the programming other remotes to the insignia TV. I found nothing on programming the insignia remote to other devices.
Where would I find the codes required to program the insignia remote to other devices??

I have a Sony BDV-E500W surround sound Speaker setup and it's remote can't control the TV (I tried every code it has). I would like to try having the TV remote (NS-L42X 10A) control the surround and BD.

Page 33 with codes starting on 37
I will try these and see if it solves my issues.
In know when in doubt RTFM.
