We're very interested in making sure that you get the most out of your Insignia™ products, and that includes using your universal remote controls.  Many remote control codes can be found on the product support pages of our website.  Also, your universal remote control should have a scan or learning feature that will help you find a working code. 

Here is a listing of Insignia Insignia TV codes for universal remote controls (for all Insignia TVs manufactured after January 1, 2007):

• The model number of your TV.

We also ask that you remember that most universal remote controls don't offer all of the functionality of your original Insignia™ TV controller, but we'll do our best to make sure that you get the most out of your universal remote!

I bought a Insignia 19" model # NS-19E720A12 REV A. I would like to know if I can use the remote that came with TV to add on to so it will control my Sony VCR (RMT-V402B)? If possible can you give me directions how to do it ? Also I purchased a GE universal remote control 24991 and I tried getting a response from TV and got nothing. I had intentions of going to one remote rather than hold one in each hand.

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

The Insignia TV does not have a universal remote so you will have to use the GE remote to control the TV. The codes that should work with the TV are 1181, 1180, 1175, 1171, 0103, 0189, 0217, 0135, 0133, 0116, 0167, 1148, 0456, 0029, 0905, 1406, 1407, or 1408.

If none of those codes work then I would recommend using the search feature by the following steps:

1. Turn the TV on.
2. Press and hold the setup button on the remote until the red indicator light stays on.
3. Press the TV button.
4. Press the on/off button until TV turns off (may take up to 300 presses).
5. Press enter to lock the code.

We have an old insgnia tv model number IS-TVCA102212 and we currently have pvr boxes hooked up. The remote is an IR universal remote, AT6400 made by motorola i think but could be wrong. If you have the universal codes that would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hello Stat_Chick,

I was unable to find a code for the IS-TV040925 using the RM-EZ2 remote, however you can use the code search feature by following these steps:

1. Turn on the TV.
2. Press and hold the "Set" button on the remote then press the "Power" button.
3. Press the "TV' button on the remote.
4. Press and release the "CH+" button followed by the "Power" button.
5. Repeat step 4 until the TV turns of, this could take up to 70 tries before the TV turns off.
6. When the TV turns off press the "Ent" button to save the code.

I am trying to use a TIVO remote to operate my Insignia NS-LTDVD32-09 tv. Using the remote code 0091, I am able to control volume, but I cannot change the input selection nor control any DVD functionality. The numbers on the remote are 090906/A1. Is there a remote code that will allow me to control the input and DVD?

Hello Mr_nasty,

There is not a specific code for this TV, however I would suggest using the code search feature of the remote by following these steps:

1. Turn on your TV.
2. Press and hold the "TV" and "OK" buttons on the remote, release the buttons and all the mode buttons will blink twice.
3. Press 9 9 2 and the TV button will blink twice.
4. Point the remote at the TV and press "Play".
5. When the TV turns off press the "Enter" button to save the code and exit the code scan.
