Is there a way to play video thru the USB port?

Hello all,

I just bought the Insignia 39" LED NS-39D301NA15.

I was wondering if anyone else found they could not play video from a USB flash drive on the USB port? I tried it with this TV and it won't do it.

I know someone who has a Samsung TV and they can play FLASH and .MP4's thru their USB port.

Does this TV need a Firmware upgrade and how would that be done?

Thanks to all for any help!

Hello mikedem55,

Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!

The only functionality available through USB is a JPEG viewer/slideshow service. That is offered as a secondary service, as we include the USB port in case a fault does cause a Firmware update to be necessary.

Hello jdr,

Welcome to Community@Insignia!

You may display JPEG images from a USB flash drive. This TV does not support video playback from USB. You can find more information in the User Guide.

Thank you for writing to us.

Re: Is there a way to play video thru the USB port?

Hi technical support i own a insignia ns32d311na17 32'' TV ... it comes with a single USB port ... but it can only display pictures no video of anykind ... i was wondering if a firmware update it's neccesary or is that the TV does not have a video decoder incorporated?

thanx in advance for your reply
