Isignia model NS-LCD26A HDMI not being recognized

Hello!

I have recently bought an HDMI cord for my ps3 as I have decided to spend my tiny excess in college budget to put my ps3 gaming and tv to text level. To my dismay however, when I hooked up the HDMI cable to ps3 and went to ps3 to switch over, the tv had no change whatsoever on the HDMI inputs. I immediately thought this was a ps3 issue and combed ps3 forums for possible fixes and tried all to no avail. I then hooked up the ps3 and HDMI cable to dorm next to me and it instantly was recognized and worked. I tried also connecting my computer through the HDMI input however also no response. This leaves me with certainty that there must be something with my tv that is not accepting the HD. I have tried to comb forums for similar problems, however it appears my model, NS-LCD26A, must be some archaic model despite being 4 years old as barely any reference to it can be found anywhere. If anyone could offer ANY advice on how to possibly get the tv to recognize the HDMI signal, me, my roommate, and my hall would match appreciate it!

Thanks

Re: Isignia model NS-LCD26A HDMI not being recognized

Hello VtechHokie703,

I would suggest resetting the video output setting on the PS3 by turning off the PS3, then press and hold the power button until the system beeps twice. You should then be able to choose your video settings (make sure you select HDMI and 720). If you continue experiencing this issue, please let me know.

Re: Isignia model NS-LCD26A HDMI not being recognized

Thanks alot for the help!  However I have tried this method and many other ps3 methods I have found online and none have worked ( on my tv, in my neighbors room it worked fined), making me wonder if there is some setting I need to change on the tv first that I'm neglecting, or if perhaps it needs to unfortunately needs to be repaired.

Hello VtechHokie703,

I would suggest that you turn off the TV and unplug it overnight. Leaving the TV unplugged overnight will allow it to reset, if the issue persists after the reset, I would suggest contacting your local Geek Squad.
