Lost remote

I have an Insignia LDVD26Q-10A television.  The remote is lost (apparently).

Two things I'd like to do, but have not been able to do:

(1) Input specific channels (some channels aren't automatically moved to via using the channel up/down buttons);

(2) Rerun the channel scan, in an effort to pick up the channels that I want that aren't readily moved to via up/down buttons.

Is it possible to do either of these things without a remote?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: Lost remote

Hello Justin_watkins,

It will be easiest if you replace your remote, which can be done here. You can re-run the channel scan without the remote, to do this, press the menu button on the TV then use the "Vol +" / "Vol-" buttons to navigate vertically through a menu and the "Ch+" /  "Ch-" to navigate horizontally. However, you will not be able to select a specific channel without the remote.

Re: Lost remote

Your post was helpful.  Without a remote, I got to the channel scan.  But what is the enter/select button?

Hello karena,

Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!

When you are in the menu, the input button on the side will act like the enter. If that doesnt work, one of the volume buttons will act like the enter. You will just have to try both out to see which works on your model of TV.

Re: Lost remote

Hello Zac-INSG,

I am without a remote as well but have run into a slightly different issue.

Without a remote I am able to only partially navigate the Menu Screen. It will let me navigate vertically and select and navigate through the picture options just fine.

But when I try to navigate the top of the Menu Screen over from Picture to Audio and then over to Channels then Settings (4 Menu Screen main tabs in bold) it would not let me do it. I figured out to move vertically on that top portion of the Menu Screen I needed to hold down the Menu Button on my TV and press the channel button at the same time.

All fine, right?

Nope!

When I move vertically to Audio from Picture (that it defaults on when I press the menu button) on the main Menu Screen it automatically sends me back to the screen that says "Please Run Auto Channel Search". I can subvert this message breifly by pressing the channel button rapidly to move the cursor to the other options like Channels or Settings. BUT, once those things are selected, it automatically sends me back to the default screen that says "Please Run Auto Channel Search".

The model of Insignia TV I have is #NS-32D20SNA14

Please HELP!!

You can e-mail me directly zechariahbaker@hotmail.com.

Re: Lost remote

Hello ZechariahBaker,

Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!

Can you provide the model number for your TV? It should start with NS-.

Unplug the power to the TV for at least a minute. While the TV is unplugged, press all of the buttons on the TV a few times. Do any of the buttons press irregularly? Plug the TV back in and see how the menu acts now. If it continues to exit the menu immediately, it is acting like there is a stuck down button somewhere, which may be internal.

Re: Lost remote

Another alternative is to use a universal remote control. I use an RCA RCR-313BR universal to control my entire home entertainment system (TV, DVD, VCR, Roku), and it works very well.

Same problem. I can't figure out how to choose yes or no for DO YOU WANT TO RUN AUTO CHANNEL SEARCH. I have tried every combination of buttons. Please tell me you figured it out!
