My NS-L42X-10A

I bought this last week and am very happy with it, but I have one concern; when I had my directv high definition hooked up, all screen resoloutions were supported......EXCEPT 1080p. Is there something I can do to remedy this?

Hello Big_G_Vegas,

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

Your TV will output the signal going into it from your DirecTV receiver.  I had to adjust my up-convert DVD player's output for my TV at home to display at the desired resolution.  If your receiver is not producing 1080p output you may need to consult DirecTV for options.  Are you having similar signal issues with your DVD or Blu-Ray player?  What is the model number of your receiver?

Re: My NS-L42X-10A

There seems to be an issue with converting the 1080p24 from Directv.  The interesting this is that with a 120Hz refresh rate no conversion should be necessary and this should be very easy for the NS-L42X-10A if the information on the box that I bought is telling the truth.  Directv HD movies are broadcast in 1080p24 and this is the issue that I am running into.  Any time I try and turn the 1080p on the receiver I get a message on the tv that states “not supported”.   Why is this an issue if the tv can support  1080p and has a refresh rate of 120Hz (120Hz is a multiple of 24hz so a 3:2 pull-down is not required)?

Hello Runnerj  ,

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

I'm sorry to hear youre having troubles with the mode not being supported on the tv. Actually as you said this tv does support the 1080p resolution so my question is, what kind of cords are you using to perform the connections ?

The tv supports the 1080p resolution only trhough HDMI so if you're using the COMPONENT connections it would happen that the signal will not be displayed on the screen.

I hope you find this information useful, otherwise write me back for further assistance !

Re: My NS-L42X-10A

Hi All,

I have the NS-L22X-10A tv, which is flawless except for the 1080p DirecTV issue (24hz film mode),   Gonza, is there really a fix for this?
