My TV has NO SOUND, help me PLEASE!

My TV has no sound. It is not hooked to another device, just a cable wire, no box. I have turned the power off and unhooked the cable and put it all back, still no sound. I have read through the troubleshooting, but that was no help. I also plugged headphones into as well, but there was no sound there either. I have no clue what to do with it. I bought it from someone, they have it hooked up and the sound was working fine, they also had it hooked to speakers, so maybe that is an issue. Model NS LCD32; Lot 136519 XHT 071985. I looked up the model on your sight and saw that it was discontinued. I hope that you can still help me. The picture is great just NO SOUND, PLEASE HELP!!!

Have you verified that the sound is not muted?  Also, have you verified that the internal speakers have not been turned off via the on-screen menus?  If you have and the problem persists, your TV may need repairs.  Service can be obtained by calling 1-888-237-8289 in the U.S. or 1-866-237-8289 in Canada.
