NS-32L450A11 gaming quality

Hi I have just recently bought the NS-32L450A11. The reason I upgraded to an HDTV was so I can have top notch quality when playing video games. Unfortunately I’m pretty disappointed with how these games look.

Particularly I’ve tried call of duty black ops, battlefield bad company 2 and battlefield 1943. For the Xbox 360

The games look poorly rendered and there’s jagged lines. The graphics look blocky and the texture seems pretty bad.

The dash board on the other hand looks so beautiful I just don’t get it.

Im currently using the component cables green, blue, red and it is set to HD. They are also plugged in correctly.

I’ve tried putting my console/display settings  to 1080p,720p, 1080i and no improvement in quality. I tried using my HDMI and HD component--they look the same.

I’ve also played with the TV picture itself switching from energy saver to vivid and adding sharpness etc. (if theres a game mode then I don’t know where it is)

It seems hopeless and I’m considering exchanging it for another TV but im here to get second opinions. Maybe I was expecting too much from HD gaming?, or is there really something wrong here?

I have just gotten an HD cable box from cable vision and the picture is very good on that so I don’t know whats up.

Re: NS-32L450A11 gaming quality

Hello Peppino,

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

The issue with HD is that you do not only need and HDTV but you will also need HD material to play on it. Actually if you play none HD on an HDTV, you will notice the difference. Imagine you have lots of information you can fill but not much of it to do so, eventually you will start noticing the "blank" spaces. Because of this, most HDTVs will have image enhancers that will try to provide that "missing information" to the TV by filling it with already existing one. The problem with this is that all this maths the TV does to fill those blanks will need time (milliseconds) that will produce game lag!

My advise in this case, will be for you to look for HD games that will bring the most out of your console and your TV.

If it was useful, and you liked it, Kudo it!

Thank you,
Guille
