We are having trouble hearing voices when watching TV stations. Treble is at max, bass is at minimum, Audyssey dynamic volume is off, SRS is turned off, audio on mono (not stereo) and sound quality is still mushy. When using Audssey or SRS, sould quality is very poor.
Any suggestions on how to improve audio quality of voices.
Is there a home audio accessory such as a home theater system that will sync with the TV remote that would improve sound clarity?
I tried an Insignia sound bar but it would not synch with this model and I could not turn off the TV speakers which made the sound quality worse.

I would suggest resetting the audio settings on the TV. This can be done by following these steps:
After resetting the audio settings I would suggest going back into the audio settings menu then disabling "Audyssey Dynamic Volume" and "SRS TruSurround HD".
Once your settings are set like I have recommended, then try different inputs such as Component or HDMI. That way you can establish if the audio quality is only affected through coax or if it is affecting all audio playback. You can also call our support line to have service setup under warranty if you believe that the TV is in need of repairs.

Since you are having issues with audio on multiple inputs, I would suggest contacting our service line so that you can have your TV repaired.
