Comcast Motorola Dual Tuner DVR
Purchased Dec 16 2010
I get a picture but no audio with HDMI. It works fine with component cables. The old TIVO works. The older VCR works. But my cable box on HDMI does not. What is the issue here? I tried hooking up an optical audio cord out from the cable box to the TV but that didn't do anything either. Help.

Also while on component and watching TV (either live or on Demand) the TV goes blank for about 1 second. It has done it 4 or 5 dimes in 20 second intervals while going throug the Comcast menus.

Yes, I tried a different cable.
Yes, I tried other ports.
The cable box is my only HDMI device.
No error messages. Great picture, but no sound.
I was mistaken on the model number. I pulled it off the site because I can't read the tiny print off the back of the TV. It's the LCD, not the LED-LCD.

Hello Django,
Welcome to Community@Insignia™!
I was checking the DCT6400 Series users guide for Comcast, and was able to verify it does not have an HDMI output; instead, it does offer a DVI output. In case you are using a DVI to HDMI adapter, and then, connecting an HDMI cable to the TV, let me tell you that as the DVI connection is only for video, it would not be providing audio to the TV.
If I am confused about the model number of DVR you have from Comcast, please let me know so I can go deeper and investigate correctly why you may not have sound based on the correct model.
In regards to the TV settings, I would say to turn a features off to make sure they are not interfering:
In the PICTURE menu, go to the ADVANCED VIDEO, and on the Insignia Motion 120 Hz option, select it to OFF.
In the AUDIO menu, set the AUDySSEY DYNAMIC VOLUME to OFF as well.
So, just to check why the sound is not working we may need to do some research together so please be patient and in time we will find a resolution for your case.
If it was useful, and you liked it, Kudo it!
Thank you,
Guille
