NS-L42X-10A 120Hz Motion

I'm interested to know if the 120Hz is really worth the extra money over the Insignia 42" 60Hz.  The salesperson at Best Buy told me that for regular TV viewing (sports, movies, TV shows) that it's difficult to tell the difference if at all, but the difference can easily be seen watching DVDs.  I rarely watch DVDs, so I'm not concerned about that.  Is it true that there's not much difference watching cable broadcasts, particularly shows that have a lot of jerky camera movements?  The other concern I have about the 120Hz has to do with the poor reviews I've read from expert sites mentioning that the DCM on this model was so bad that they preferred to turn it off in most cases (which defeats the purpose, right?).  Any issues related to DCM not working well?  I appreciate anyone's insight.  Thanks.

Hello Brian,

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

As you've been informed at the store, it wont be a big difference if you use the tv just to watch cable TV shows or movies, now when it comes to live sports shows you will notice the difference of the 120Hz over the 60Hz.

Regarding the issue with the DCM feature, it could be a problem with specific unit but out of that the feature show be working properly with no problem at all an d also in case you experience any inconvenience you can always contact us back in order for us to provide you with a solution.

Regards,

Re: NS-L42X-10A 120Hz Motion

Having 120hz does make a difference but not all HDTVs do the process the same.  Some sets have an annoying delay between the video and audio when the audio comes from a source like a cable box or DVD/BD player and then input directly into an A/V receiver etc.
