NS-LCD26A No Sound for all inputs except Cable.

I have a NS-LECD26A Television that I purchased probably 2 or 3 years ago. I had bought it for its use with my Playstation 3 console and I liked taking control of the HD capabilities. However, a problem has risen from my NS-LCD26A.

I plugged in my Playstation 3 with component cables to Component 1. Turned it on and noticed right off the bat that there was no Playstation jingle that I was accustomed to hearing. No big deal. Turned the system off and then booted it back up. Still no sound. I messed around with the component cable a little bit while the system was off. Turned it on again. Nothing. By now I had thought it was just the Playstation that was the problem. I changed the cord on the back and found that the regular composite cable was also not producing any sound. "It has to be the console." I thought until I tried a friend's Playstation 3 on the tv. Still no sound. I then plugged in the system to a smaller and older television and it worked perfectly. I also tried to use the headphone jack on the side. No sound.

I thought that the sound was shot until I plugged in the cable cord to the cable jack in the tv and what do you know, it works. Sound is perfect, no crackling at all. It's puzzling. So the sound isn't completely shot.

What I am trying to say is that... well I don't really know but I just want to know if this can be fixed or at least how much it's going to cost me in the long run. I am a college student and I am hoping that this isn't going to drain my account. Thanks for the help.
