Hello,

This TV has both headphone and AV Audio out ports.  I have a set of external speakers I'd like to attach and use instead of the internal speakers.  I have the appropriate red and white, left/right cables along with an adapter to make them work in a headphone port.

I am only able to get the speakers to work with the headphone port, which approprately mutes the tv speakers and activates the external speakers.  When I use the L/R audio outputs, nothing happens, and the internal speakers keep playing with no audio going to the externals.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Hello stapidrubi,

The AV audio output ports are meant to be used with a VCR for recording purposes (specifically with only analog TV signals, or signals from AV1/AV2). As a result, if you would like to connect to an external audio device, you must either use the headphone jack, or the digital optical audio ports, either of which will disable the internal speakers.
