I have been watching the playoffs on TBS and I am having issues with the picutre being cut off on the right. Now let me try to explain.
I have an Insignia NS-L32X-10A tv and the pitchtrax box on the right of the screen seems to be cut off where the batters box on the right it cut off. I have overscan set at off and I have the wide setting on the aspect ratio. If I change that the box is even less visible.
Now I have been doing some reading on other posts and I was able to get to my cable box settings for its native display, the HDMI setting and color settings. I have changed the color settings in the HDMI settings from YCC to RGB and the default display from 1080i to native. When I turned the cable box back on the pitchtrax box was now fully visible, but the screen looked a little less vibrant and not as sharp then when the color was set on YCC. Even my on screen guide looks blurry or muddy. Also, when I use the info button on the tv remote the upper right corner status displays the input as HDMI but the resolution is now says 1920x1080 and it used to say 1080i.
Why does the picture change like that and is there any way to change back to the YCC setting and have the picture not be cut off when I watch baseball on TBS. I know that the only other way is to watch the TBS in SD but who wants to watch that?
Please tell me you can point me the right way to fixing this. Also I have seen on these boards that there might be a firmware upgrade? If so how can I get that?

Thanks for your quick reply. After posting I tracked down the firmware update myself and updated the tv. Now it seems to have done the trick and all the resolution settings are fine. The pitchtrax box is fully displayed now and is showing 1080i and the picture seems even better. Anyone else that has a similar problem and can update your firmware I suggest you do so.

I recently performed a firmware update on my Insignia ns-l32x-10a LCD HDTV. While the update solved the problem that I had, I now have a new problem that has appeared after the update.
When I put on a standard def channel or an HD channel that is shows the pillars on both sides of the screen I get a line of "noise" at the very top of the screen. If I put on an HD channel that is in full HD there is no noise. This does not happen on every channel and sometimes when there is a commercial the line disappears.
On my old HDTV there was a function that let me adjust the screen position and I was able to eliminate that line and it only took a very small adjustment that did not affect the look of the screen at all.
Is there a way that I can do something similar?

Some broadcasts will have those lines, either because of signal quality or, as part of the image is cropped due to overscan, analog TV used that space for datacasting. In order to get rid of those lines, you will need to turn on Overscan when watching those channels.
If it was useful, and you liked it, Kudo it!

First off, kudos to Insignia for releasing the firmware update for this model and correcting this design error. The buyer should have the ability to choose whether overscan is on or off on the set they purchased.
Unfortunately, I asked for the same for my NS-L47Q09-10A back in April 2010 and have not had a reasonable reply, nor a firmware update made available for my set. Instead, my post was moved to the "Innovate With Us" forum. Fixing the firmware is not an innovation!! I have HDTV's from two other manufacturers which allow unrestricted control of overscan settings. I fully understand when it is appropriate to use or to not use overscan.
Sweetp267, I have the same screen positioning controls on 2 of my other HDTV's and use it in the same way to hide noise at the top edge of the image. I would love to see that capability on my Insignia set but at this point would just be happy to have access to the overscan controls.
Until Insignia shows better and more consistent dedication to customer support, I cannot recommend and will not purchase Insignia products.
