Hello. I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with what should be a simple problem. All I'm trying to do is turn the closed caption OFF without the original remote. I have a 32" LCD Insignia (model # NS-LCD-3209) and I lost the original remote a few months ago. I didn't bother replacing the remote since we have a universal remote control through our cable provider (Comcast Cable Co). I believe the Comcast universal remote control model # is C111003. The on-screen menus do not give the on/off option or at least I couldn't find it and the universal remote (which is already programmed for the TV) does not have a CCD button. Does anyone know how to turn closed caption off using on-screen menus OR using a universal remote? Any help is very appreciated. Thanks again, Heather.

Unfortunately if you are unable to turn off the close captions with the Comcast remote, you will need the original remote to control this function. You can purchase a replacement remote here, you might also try turning the TV off and unplugging it from the power over night. This might reset the TV internal settings, which would turn the closed captions off.

I also don't have the original remote and need to order one. (Thanks for the link, BTW!) but now I don't know my correct model number. I acquired if from the back of the unit (NS-LTDVD26-09) but the site's options are NS-LTDVD26-09CA; NS-LTDVD26-09 VER A; NS-LTDVD26-09 VER B; NS-LTDVD26-09 VER C; or NS-LTDVD26-09 VER D. I can't find CA or VER on the back of my set and I don't have the original box. (Floor model, which is also why I don't have the correct remote--we purchased it AS IS. La di da.)
OK, I take it back. I can find a CA on the back, but it's in the label for manufacture date. It reads: 8J21A3197AC. Does that help? I hope so because I'm tired of not being able to use all the cool functions of my TV because I have the wrong 'mote!
Thanks in Advance!

Unfortunately it appears that the original remote for the NS-LTDVD26-09 has been discontinued, however you can use an Insignia universal remote for your TV which can be found here.

Thanks so much for the help! Your response was so prompt!
I have already ordered the new remote (and at a great price) and am looking forward to its arrival.
Thanks again, HGForce
