Remote Control Code for NSPDP50

I recently purchased a Insignia NS-PDP50 from a friend of mine, but he did not have the remote control.

I searched for a replacement and purchased the LG/Zenith/Insignia 6710V00151W remote control.

Now I just need to figure out how to get it programmed to work the television.  Please help.

Re: Remote Control Code for NSPDP50

Hello dickerson2001,

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

Your first step will be to read and follow the steps for programming in the universal remote control's owner's manual.  If the codes recommended there do not work, you may try the codes for these compatible brands: Orion, Emerson, Memorex, Sansui, Sylvania, Zenith.  If a usable code is still not forthcoming, please let us know.  Alternatively, you may contact our parts supplier through Best Buy at 1-888-237-8289 to purchase a factory remote for your TV.

Re: Remote Control Code for NSPDP50

I have an Insignia television (NS-L42X10A) and I also have a Saumsung Blu Ray Player (BD-P1590).  I woulld like to get the Samsung remote to control the television and have used the codes for the brands suggested on your site.  Some of those brands are not in the listing, and the ones that are did not work.  Your help would be appreciated.

Re: Remote Control Code for NSPDP50

Hello bboukari,

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

I have noticed going through this thread that several Samsung remotes are not including Insignia in their Universal Remote codes memory (as many other brands either).

We have performed extensive research (based on Samsung remote controls AK59-00104R and AK59-00104K in particular) and this Universal Remote type has a limited code memory and do not have a "Search" or "Learning" function, therefore if the brand is not listed in compatibility chart from the remote itself it will not be compatible with the TV brand.

Samsung tech support confirmed this and said there's no workaround available. Our best advice is to either use both remotes or get a universal remote that supports both brands.

Although there is another option that you may want to try. The remote you have received with the NS-L42X-10A is an Insignia Universal remote, model number NS-RC02U-10A, and it holds in the memory some codes for Samsung so if you are looking to simplify everything to a single remote you may want to try programming our Insignia remote to command your Samsung player instead.

The Samsung DVD's/ Blu ray player codes for our Insignia Universal remotes would be 20490, 20573, 20744, 20199, 20820, 20899, 21044 and 21075. If none of them work, try the "Search" mode and as a last option you have the "Learning" mode.

Hope this helps,

Re: Remote Control Code for NSPDP50

Nicolas,

Thank you for your assistance with this.  I do have the Insignia remoted programmed for the Samsung Blu Ray player, but there are some functions which cannot be done with this remote.  For example, I have not found away with the Insignia remote to tell the Samsung player to select any of the four options available on the opening menu.  In other words, I cannot select watch Netflix or Pandora or BlockBuster, etc.   Once I get past that, I can pretty much accomplish all of the functions to watch a movie.

Thank you again.

Re: Remote Control Code for NSPDP50

Hi bboukari,

Usually the Java application buttons follow the following color coding: Red, Green, Yellow and Blue.

If you check your Insignia Universal remote you will see that the input selector button (TV, VIDEO, COMP and HDMI) are equally color coded, please check if those buttons will work to access the Java applications of your Samsung Blu ray player.

If that doesn't work, the last option would be for our remote to duplicate the signal from your Samsung remote about those 4 functions using the "Learning" mode.

In the NS-L42X-10A User's Manual we have dedicated an entire section of it to provide an step by step about how to use the "Learning" function.

Please try it and keep me posted,

Nicolas

Re: Remote Control Codes

Hi John.  Just picked up an Insignia HDTV and Insignia Bluray, but strangely enough, the TV's remote has no code for an Insignia Bluray DVD Player.  Tried running thru lots of codes, etc., no dice.  Please help.

The TV is the NS-L46X-10A

The remote is the NS-RC02U-10A

and the Wireless Bluray is NS-WBRDVD, of course.

I got the Insignia Bluray assuming it would work most in sync with the TV.  Funny how the remote can't be programmed to work the bluray!  Hope to hear from you soon, Dave.

Re: Remote Control Codes

Hello dsmolar,

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

Unfortunately there isn't a code that we can provide that will allow the TV remote to control the Blu-ray player.  I recommend using the remote's scan or learning features to find a usable code.
