Hello, I have a Insigna TV (model NS-42P650A11) and I want to connect it to my Laptop (HP Pavilion dv2840se Verve Entertainment Notebook PC). On the TV side I only have hdmi , while on my computer I only have vga. So, I get a hmdi - vga cable ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002TUC64W/ref=oh_o01_s00_i00_details ) . However, I can't conect it, the TV said "this source is not connected, Please check connection again."
In order to use a VGA to HDMI cable you will need a converter. The reason for this is VGA is an analog signal and HDMI is a digital signal. As a result, your TV can not interpret the analog signal being sent across the cable.
