Re: TV Keeps Turning On and Off

Hello danielmadden,

Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!

Can you provide the model number for your TV? It will start with NS-.

What issue are you having with the TV? What devices do you have connected to the TV?

Re: TV Keeps Turning On and Off

What it turned out to be for me is that the channel listings had changed for me and the television had kept trying to tune to the older channel that was no longer being picked up I believe.

Here's what worked for me.

1. Unplug your TV.

2. Disconnect the Coaxial Cable

3. Turn it on.

4. Run a Channel Scan to clear the current listing.

5. Turn it off.

6. Reconnect the Coaxial Cable.

7. Turn it on.

8. Run another Channel Scan

Should work alright then if it's the same issue.

Re: TV Keeps Turning On and Off

I have a 19 in insignia LCD. It keeps turning on and off like all the others but I have nothing other than my PS4 hdmi cable plugged into it. Model number is NS-19E31OA13.
It won't stay on long enough to do a channel scan. I just want to be able to have it on long enough to switch inputs. Help

Re: TV Keeps Turning On and Off

Hello Bcampbell,

Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!

When the TV is off you should see a solid red light on the front of the TV. When the TV is turning on, the red light will blink a few times then go out completely once the TV is on. What is the light doing for your TV? When it is turning off and on do you see the red light and the welcome screen?

Unplug the TV from power for at least a minute. While it is unplugged, disconnect the PS4. Plug the TV back in and turn it on. Does it stay on now? Does it do anything differently?

Re: TV Keeps Turning On and Off

Hi,

Same issue here...  We have a 55" NS-55D440NA14.

When we open the TV, it will just turn off and turn back on again and again.

We have the cable (using a converter box) and a PS4 plogged to the TV.  Everything is HDMI, no Coaxial Cable plugged directly to the TV.  When the TV is disconnected from the cable signal (or the PS4), it just shows a "Please Run Channel Scan" but it will not close.

Thanks!

Re: TV Keeps Turning On and Off

Hello Jack99,

Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!

Unplug the TV from the power for at least a minute. While it is unplugged, disconnect all devices from the TV. Plug the TV back in and power it on. It should power on and show the scan message. Does the TV stay on this screen or does it power on and off? If it is working fine, connect one of your other devices, turn it on, and change the TV input to whatever you have connected. Do this with all devices, giving it a few minutes in between to see if the issue comes back.

What else is connected to the TV? If you look on the front of the TV there should be a red light when the TV is off. Does this light go off and on while the TV is cycling power?

I have a NS-40D420NA16. It shuts off, turns back on by itself. It's about 4 months old. What can I do to fix it?
