Best Buy is my favorite store. However, I am very unhappy with the way Insignia hides its service menu information.
I have a Sony that had this problem. All that has to be done on the Sony is increase the overscan. Sony doesn't hide its service menu information like Insignia does. I understand that you have a business model that tries to strong arm people into buying Geek Squad service, but it just doesn't make sense for a TV that costs only a few hundred dollars.
The NS-LCD**-09 series is discontinued, so PLEASE tell us how to get into the service menu.
Thank you!

Hi GaTechThomas,
The service menu, as the name states, is for use by Service technicians only. This is due to the fact that most settings in this menu can make your TV work improperly or even destroy the TV if handled incorrectly.
If your TV is not behaving as expected and this cannot be fixed through the menu or by resetting it, we provide free service for the warranty of the TV. This service includes any and all repair that need to be done to it.
If you need service after the warranty period, you can still get it on a fee basis.
Regards,
Gonzo

I have spoken to a Best Buy Geek Squad member at my local store, and he claims that the thin white line is a problem with my cable company's signal. Whoever the root cause lies with, I know that increasing the overscan will fix the problem. If I could make this fix myself, I wouldn't have to be stuck between Cox Cable and Geek Squad. I am not interested in debating the issue - I just want it fixed. Whether Best Buy wants to talk to Cox Cable to get it fixed or if Best Buy wants to fix the overscan, I don't care. However, I don't want to stand in line again for 20 minutes to get turned away again.
Given that a number of people on this forum have this problem, how do I convince my local Best Buy Geek Squad to fix this problem on the two Insiginias that I own?
Thanks.
-Thomas

@GaTechThomas
Feel free to contact our Geek Squad repairs In Home Service at 1-800-433-5778; they will let you know if your TV qualifies (depends on the screen size) for free on-site service.
Keep in mind this service has no charge as long as you are within the warranty period.

Gonza

Have you tried changing the overscan? You can find it in:
Menu/Picture/Advanced Video/Overscan
On a non-HD picture, the thin white bar is usually caused by the CC information contained in the signal.Adjusting the overscan will often remove it. However, since your only optons here are on/off you may not be so lucky.
Steve.
