Trying to adjust my picture settings ns-l42q-10a

I am very pleased with my insignia ns-l42q-10a television. I am however, having trouble adjusting my picture size.  No matter what I do the picture seems to be too large. By this I mean, often captions or other text located on the top or lower edge of the frame are out of view. I can read the first couple of lines but not the bottom. Also it seems the tops of peoples heads are out of view when they should be seen. I have tried all the settings I.e.: wide, cinema, normal etc. None seem to make any difference.  Can anyone tell me what I am doing improperly?

Re: Trying to adjust my picture settings ns-l42q-10a

It looks as though the problem was with my cable box.  Evidently I am able to "zoom" the cable box as well as the TV. The cable "zoom" had somehow inadvertantly been selected. readjusting this function seems to have pretty much solved my issue.
