I have a insignia NS-20LCD that has started to turn it's self on and then start changing channels without anyone in the room. we will come home and find it on going through the channels. I replaced the main board thinking that would cure the problem but it didn't. so I am hoping that someone here could direct me to a likely problem I am a Mass registered TV and radio tech so I would like to fix this myself if someone could offer a little help it would be great.
Thanks

Hello Alex2507,
Welcome to Community@Insignia™!
Since you'e replied to a months old thread, would you please confirm your TV model number. Also, details about the problem as you're experiencing it would be helpful. Have you recently changed your home theater system by adding new components or a universal remote control? The more details you can provide, the better the assistance we can offer.
Regards,
John

Hi John. Thanks for the repy. The model of my TV is in fact the same as the one in the original post: NS-20LCD.
This TV is hooked up to a receiver via component video cables. It is primarily for use with the on screen menus from the receiver and DVD player. I do in fact have a URC MX-350 remote control that only works for the on/off functions. My symptoms are remarkably similar to the original poster's.
The TV turns itself on as soon as it is plugged in and goes to the TV source where it seems to keep going to channel #1.
I did the auto set up to search for channels but did not have cable hooked up so all it can go to is #1.
When I change the input it goes back to TV, channel #1 after a few seconds.
If I turn it off manually or with the remote it turns itself on and cycles to channel #1 every few seconds as if #1 was being pressed on the remort.
It sounds very similar to what the original poster described but I don't have any higher channels locked in from the auto set up.
Thanks very much for responding.

Hello Alex2507,
It seems likely that your TV is experiencing hardware related issues and as a result I would suggest contacting your local Geek Squad to have a technical assessment performed on the TV. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello Alex2507,
I discussed your question with Zac; the problem you've encountered is not a "known issue," and we cannot guide you as to which part might be the culprit. You may find available parts for your TV here, but our recommendation remains to pursue repairs through Geek Squad. Please know that we regret the inconvenience.

After taking a closer look I saw a Receiver Board listed as an available part but I'm not sure that it is in fact the remote receiver. Here's the link to what I looked at.
